NP Stephanie Walker

Nurse Practitioner

I graduated as a nurse in Dunedin 1997.  My early years were spent in both NZ and the UK working to gain experience across a multitude of different specialties before moving into emergency care. I was lucky to move into a senior clinical nursing advisor role focusing on after-hours care at Auckland City Hospital, which provided both emergency and clinical support for adult, child and womens health. The next challenge was as an intensive care outreach clinical nurse specialist, concentrating on preventing and responding to clinical deterioration.

During my journey I completed a Masters degree, from the University of Auckland. This lead me down the nurse practitioner pathway and in 2021 I moved back to the Mainland with my family, where I started working in aged residential care as an NP. Now I am fortunate to be working alongside the wonderful MNR team in general practice.

Outside of work I have an enthusiastic tweenaged daughter who likes to keep me busy. I love exploring our fabulous country and others, as well as relaxing with good friends and family.
